New Year, New You, New Blu with Radisson #BluRoutes

Radisson Blu Hotel Sydney is making it easier for guests to commit to their healthy lifestyle resolutions with the launch of their #BluRoutes – a series of walking and running routes around the city.

With hotel guests now looking for offerings that include a gym, healthy menu options and outdoor activities to break up their business routines, Radisson Blu is reflecting the trend of 'Sportspitality', a term now being used more often by the tourism industry.

The #BluRoutes can be downloaded on the hotel's One Touch app so hotel guests have the information conveniently at their fingertips. They will also be available on the website and in printed form from the Concierge team.

The routes have been carefully planned by Radisson Blu's team members to ensure Sydney's views, harbour, heritage, gardens, architecture, iconic buildings and landmarks can all be enjoyed by guests while maintaining their exercise routine.

There are four different routes offering diversity in distance, time, difficulty and sites to meet the needs of all their guests from amateur joggers to keen runners.

All of the #BluRoutes start and finish at the hotel and the four routes guests can choose from are:
  • Blu to Harbour Bridge – a 6km, 90 minute walk which heads toward Circular Quay, through the Rocks, over the Bridge and into Kirribilli
  • Blu to Royal Botanic Gardens – this is a 2.5km, 25 minute walk taking guests past the heritage buildings on Macquarie Street and around the spectacular Botanic Gardens
  • Blu to Darling Harbour – this is a 5km, 40 minute route through the city and across old Pyrmont Bridge to Darling Harbour
  • Blu to Opera and Gardens – this 7km+ route is for fitness enthusiasts and takes guests towards Circular Quay, pass the Sydney Opera House and Mrs Macquarie's Chair providing spectacular views of the Harbour Bridge. Continuing on the route then travels down to the Royal Botanic Gardens, St Mary's Cathedral and through Hyde Park

For guests also seeking healthy diet options, the hotel has introduced Paleo dishes to the in-room and bar menus, which include coconut-poached chicken, pan-seared salmon fillet, seafood frittata as well as a range of appetising salads. There is also a gluten free High Tea on offer for those guests looking to indulge a little.

Radisson Blu General Manager, Peter Tudehope, said: “Our recent $12 million investment in the re-design of the hotel will cement Radisson Blu's position as one of the leading five-star hotels in Sydney but we are always looking at ways in which to enhance the guest experience. I think that the #BluRoutes One Touch app as well as the introduction of Paleo options to the menu shows we are doing this. We are also extremely fortunate with our geographical location in Sydney and being surrounded by so many iconic landmarks, we wanted to share these privileges with our guests”.
