Hunter Valley Hotels among the best hotels in Australia as voted by TripAdvisor

Three Hunter Valley hotels have been named amongst the best hotels in Australia as voted in the recent TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards, positioning the Hunter Valley amongst the most awarded regions in the world.

In the ‘Small Hotels’ category, Splinters Guest House was rated number 3 and Spicers Vineyard Estate number 6. For ‘Best Service’, Spicers Vineyard Estate was rated number 3 and Golden Door Health Retreat Elysia was rated number 10. Finally, in the ‘Luxury’ section, Spicers Vineyard Estate took home the trifecta, being ranked second place across Australia.

“We are very proud of our Hunter Valley properties,” said Chairman of the Hunter Wine and Tourism Association, George Souris. “It’s a great honour for them and the Hunter Valley, to be recognised amongst some of the best hotels in the country.”

TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, last week announced the winners of its Travellers’ Choice awards for Hotels. Now in its 14th year, the Travellers’ Choice awards have recognised more than 7,000 properties around the world with lists covering 97 countries and eight regions worldwide.

Hotel winners are based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from travellers around the world. The awards take into account the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and opinions and traveller ratings specific to each award category, including Top Hotels, Bargain, Luxury, Small Hotels, Service, and B&Bs/Inns.

“We congratulate the properties around the world that have won Travellers’ Choice Hotel awards,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor. “Travellers considering their next trip can book confidently selecting from these award-winners that have already delighted millions of members of the TripAdvisor community.”

The Hunter Valley Wine Country, right on the doorstep of Australia’s gateway Sydney, has gained recognition as a premier destination.

With growing tourism numbers both from domestic and international sources, the Hunter Valley has a lot to boast about: premium restaurants; a full range of accommodation; spectacular attractions; golf resorts; and the wines and their cellar doors.
