Northern Territory is being highly recommended by TripAdvisor

Northern Territory attractions are getting wide ranging and consistently good reviews on the world’s largest online travel review site.

Chief Minister Adam Giles said he was delighted TripAdvisor had awarded 2015 Certificates of Excellence to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, the Northern Territory Library, the Territory Wildlife Park and the Alice Springs Desert Park, among others.

“The Northern Territory Government is proud of all the wonderful things visitors and locals can see and do here. We are a jewel in Australia’s tourism crown and we are only getting better,” he said.

“TripAdvisor certificates and awards are a glowing endorsement from travellers around the world and are only given to attractions that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews.

“To receive the award, the attraction must rank in the top 10 per cent worldwide for traveller feedback and maintain an overall rating of four or higher out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor over the past year.

“This is exceptional feedback for some of our most popular attractions and demonstrates that a holiday in the Territory offers a world class experience.”

Mr Giles said the Territory Government had increased Tourism NT’s overall budget for 2015-16 to $50.4 million to help market the Northern Territory and its attractions.

“A thriving tourism industry will help to develop our regions, boost local businesses, create more jobs and grow the Territory economy,” he said.

“The Territory offers some of the best places and experiences in Australia and we encourage would be visitors to Do the NT.”
