Muscat Festival 2014 Kicks off

Muscat Municipality unveiled on Sunday details of the 14th version of Muscat Festival to be held from January 23 to February 22, 2013.Saif bin Sibaa al-Rashidi, Head of the Media and Culture Committee for Muscat Festival, said in the press conference that the festival will be held in Al A’mirat Public Park, Al Naseem Public Park, Oman Automobiles Club, Al Madina Amphitheatre and A’Seeb Beach.

He pointed out that Al A’mirat Public Park will host the laser performances, the Omani cultural village ‘Asala Program’, the traditional arts and world performances international festival ‘ Carnival’, the world circus and theatre performances, in addition to corners by the public and NGOs, as well as sport clubs.

He added that Al Naseem Public Park would host the entertainment arts, electrical games, trade fairs, recreational and music circus performances, magicians and clowns performances. It will also host traditional art performances, Omani songs and fireworks.On his part, Khalid bin Mohammed bin Omar Bahram, Assistant Chairman of the Main Committee, said that a number of parts would be held at Al Madina Amphitheatre as well.

“The ‘Tour of Oman’ will also be held on six rounds through the period from February18th to 23rd 2014,” he added.The festival will also include a number of sports events at Al Hail Beach namely the universities and colleges beach football tournament, private school performances, free dance, traditional games, traditional boating, marine festival and traditional art performances.
