In partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization Sydney office, Asiana Airlines has announced a major schedule change for its popular direct Sydney to Seoul Incheon service.
From 8 June to 24 October 2026, Flight OZ602 will switch to a convenient evening departure, allowing passengers to leave Sydney at night and arrive in Seoul early the next morning ready to begin their Korean adventure immediately.
The new schedule marks a significant shift in the Australia to Korea travel market, offering travellers a smarter and more efficient way to reach one of Asia’s most exciting destinations.
Night Flights Deliver A Competitive Edge For Australian And New Zealand Travellers
Unlike traditional direct flights departing Sydney in the morning and landing in Seoul late at night, Asiana Airlines’ new daily night service allows travellers to make better use of their valuable holiday hours.
Passengers will depart Sydney at 9:00 PM and arrive at Incheon International Airport at 6:30 AM the following morning.
This timing gives visitors the opportunity to start sightseeing, shopping, dining or exploring Korean culture from the moment they land.
From 4 October to 24 October 2026, to accommodate Australian Daylight Saving Time, departures will adjust slightly to 9:45 PM while maintaining the same convenient 6:30 AM arrival into Seoul.
The updated schedule also creates smoother same-day domestic connections for interstate Australian passengers and improved transit opportunities for travellers flying from New Zealand.
Previously, many New Zealand passengers faced an overnight stopover in Sydney before continuing north. The new schedule helps eliminate that inconvenience.
Seoul Opens The Door To More Than Sixty Global Destinations

With early morning arrival into Seoul’s major international gateway, travellers gain access to same-day onward connections to more than 60 global destinations across Asiana Airlines’ international network.
Whether travelling onwards to Europe, Asia, North America or other international destinations, passengers can take advantage of improved connectivity through Incheon’s globally recognised aviation hub.
Mr Jingu Jung, Regional Manager at Asiana Airlines, said the new schedule represents a major improvement for holidaymakers.
“Up until now, standard morning flight schedules meant losing a full day of vacation to transit. Asiana’s new daily night flights are a definite win for Aussie and Kiwi holidaymakers, meaning a more efficient schedule that maximises time on the ground and unlocks effortless network connectivity through our Incheon hub.”
South Korea Tourism Continues To Break Global Records
The launch arrives during a period of extraordinary growth for South Korean tourism.
Driven by the worldwide popularity of Hallyu, also known as the Korean Wave, alongside booming interest in K-beauty, Korean food, entertainment and culture, South Korea is attracting record international visitor numbers.
The country has reportedly welcomed more than two million international visitors per month during the past two consecutive months, highlighting Korea’s soaring global appeal.
From vibrant Seoul street markets and palace precincts to scenic islands, mountain landscapes, cutting-edge fashion districts and globally celebrated cuisine, Korea continues capturing the imagination of international travellers.
Mr Hyeongjoon Kim, Director at the Korea Tourism Organization Sydney, highlighted the strength of demand.
“Korea is absolutely booming on the global stage right now, and we are seeing historic, record-breaking crowds wanting to experience the country's culture, food, and energy.”
He added that the overnight service allows visitors to maximise every moment of their trip.
“This new overnight schedule allows travellers to step off the plane first thing in the morning and dive straight into their Korean adventure without missing a single moment of holiday time.”
