DEVILISHLY TALENTED CAST ANNOUNCED FOR THE ADDAMS FAMILY AT HAYES THEATRE CO

Georgia Oom, Evan Lever, Marcus Rivera,
Jenny Guigayoma, Erika Heynatz
Sydney’s live theatre scene is about to get deliciously darker this winter as Joshua Robson Productions returns with a thrilling new production of The Addams Family at Hayes Theatre Co from 11 July to 9 August.

Following the sell-out triumph of The Producers, the acclaimed production team is once again set to captivate Sydney audiences with a theatrical experience filled with gothic glamour, dark humour, unforgettable music, and extraordinary performances.

A Must-See Sydney Musical Event This Winter

Set within the eerie yet oddly charming world of the Addams family mansion, this Tony Award-nominated musical promises a wildly entertaining night out in Sydney. Combining Broadway spectacle with intimate theatre storytelling, the production celebrates individuality, family bonds, romance, and the wonderfully weird.

At the centre of the story is Wednesday Addams, the ultimate gothic outsider, who unexpectedly falls in love with a perfectly “normal” young man. When both families gather for an unforgettable dinner, chaos erupts, secrets unravel, and hilariously spooky mayhem unfolds.

The musical features an original score by Andrew Lippa, with book writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the creative masterminds behind the award-winning musical Jersey Boys.

An Exceptional Cast Brings The Addams Family To Life

Leading the cast is double Helpmann Award nominee Erika Heynatz as Morticia Addams, delivering elegance, mystery, and razor-sharp wit in equal measure. Opposite her is acclaimed Filipino-Australian performer Marcus Rivera as Gomez Addams, bringing passion and charisma to the iconic patriarch.

Emerging talent Jenny Guigayoma takes on the role of Wednesday Addams, while Georgia Oom stars as the mischievous Pugsley Addams.

Audiences can also look forward to standout performances from Evan Lever as Uncle Fester, Deborah Galanos as Grandmama, and Elliot Aitken making his professional debut as the towering Lurch.

In an exciting twist for Australian theatre fans, Teagan Wouters returns to the Addams universe after previously playing Wednesday in the original Australian production. This time, she appears as Alice Beineke alongside Rory O’Keeffe and First Nations performer Alexander Tye.

A Bold Vision From Director Julia Robertson

Director Julia Robertson promises a production unlike any previous adaptation of the beloved classic. Inspired by original Addams Family creator Charles Addams, the show embraces stylised visual storytelling, heightened emotion, and a surreal theatrical atmosphere.

Robertson explains that this version of the musical explores why audiences have remained fascinated by the Addams family for generations. The production dives deep into themes of individuality, imagination, emotional honesty, and the celebration of life’s darker corners.

With musical supervision by Zara Stanton and choreography by Shannon Burns, the creative team is set to deliver a visually stunning and emotionally rich theatrical experience.
