Australia's Cafe Culture Sprinkles Joy for Foster Kids on Fairy Bread Day

Fairy Bread Day continues to grow in national support, with Australia’s cafe community rallying behind this annual day of iconic fun, all in support of foster children across the country. FromNovember 22 to 24, cafés in every state will showcase their creativity with exclusive Fairy Bread–inspired treats, raising both funds and awareness during the official Fairy Bread Day weekend.

As the official sponsor of Fairy Bread Day, Dollar Sweets first joined forces with The Pyjama Foundation in 2023 to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity’s transformative ‘Love of Learning’ and ‘Pyjama Angel’ programs. What began as a shared commitment to supporting children in foster care has since evolved into a powerful, growing partnership that continues to make a meaningful impact each year.

"Every slice of Fairy Bread has a little bit of magic in it, and this year we are thrilled to be supported by some of Australia’s best cafes right around the country," said Miranda Higgins, Managing Director of Dollar Sweets. "Fairy Bread Day is community-driven, and our cafe culture embraces this beautifully. We thank these local businesses for their time and efforts, which bring more attention and understanding to the day, and to show kids all around the country that we care about them, their happiness, and their future.”

Participating cafés are pulling out all the rainbow-coloured stops, with Dollar Sweets sending them as many sprinkles as they need to create their own unique Fairy Bread-inspired menu item and donating the proceeds from their creation to The Pyjama Foundation.

Expect to see everything from Fairy Bread Lamingtons, Fairy Bread-infused Cinnamon Scrolls, Traditional Fairy Bread, and so much more.

“With 46,000 foster children nationallyand a significant decline in foster carers, our mission is more important than ever. We’re so grateful to all the supporting cafes and everyone who celebrates Fairy Bread Day. Your enthusiasm directly translates into more amazing ‘Pyjama Angels’ being matched with children who need it most,”stated Bronwyn Sheehan OAM, Founder and CEO of the Pyjama Foundation.
