Sanctuary Cove Marina |
Development of the J Pier will see the addition of 25 new berths in the northern section of the marina basin with 10 x 30 metre berths, 15 x 18m berths and 18 jet ski docks. Superior Jetties has been contracted with construction expected to be completed later this year, with the new Pier to be showcased at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May 2025.
The Sanctuary Cove Marina forms part of Mulpha’s broader investment in the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, Marina Village, Country Club and the Sanctuary Cove Residential Estate.
Mulpha Chief Executive Officer Greg Shaw said: “Our ongoing investment in the marina is crucial to our strategy to cater for the growing demand for world class berthing, leisure and hospitality facilities that make Sanctuary Cove Southeast Queensland’s premier lifestyle and leisure destination.
“Providing our yachting clients with great marina facilities and direct access to world class retail, 5-star hotel, fitness, golf and leisure facilities has been a winning formula”.
“Occupancy rates across the Gold Coast remain high and we are seeing increasing demand for larger boats as evidenced at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Strong sales by our exhibitors at recent Boat shows also means that there will be ongoing arrivals of newly manufactured larger vessels over the coming years”
“As we rapidly approach the 2032 Olympics, we anticipate that demand, particularly for larger yachts, will continue to build. This makes it imperative that we continue to plan and build premium quality berths for the Australian and International market.”
Steve Sammes, General Manager of Mulpha Sanctuary Cove Marina, said “The demand from larger vessels on our coastline has continued to increase. Southeast Queensland’s Gold Coast is now globally recognised as Australia’s major marine industry hub and cruising destination for superyachts,” said Mr Sammes.
“Once J Pier is complete, we will have 63 berths for superyachts across the marina”.
“Pier C was completed at the end of 2022, with 31 berths from 18 to 25m and is currently fully occupied with permanent customers. The proposed 30m berths will also cater for vessels transiting south from Asia and up and down the Australian coast. Our location is also ideal for vessels transiting to the Gold Coast Marine Precinct for refit and maintenance”.
“Sanctuary Cove as a whole, has been collaboratively working on ensuring unique customer service and experiences for vessel owners, captains, crew, and guests when they arrive. We are proud to offer a destination where you can berth, stay, and experience the best of local attractions with ease and convenience. Our berthing packages also include unique golfing, fitness, hotel and retail benefits to ensure our customers can experience the Sanctuary Cove lifestyle”
