Tourism Research Australia data has been released

New data released by Tourism Research Australia, reveals the state hosted 27 million visitors who spent $34.1 billion – an average $93.2 million a day – in the year ending March 2024.

Queensland's international overnight visitor expenditure (OVE) hit a new high of $6.1 billion, which is a 100.9 per cent recovery when compared to 2019.

New Zealand and USA visitors generated record OVE, whilst the UK and Japan visitors spent more than they did in 2019.
Queensland felt the impact of Australia's contracting domestic holiday market, as competition increases with overseas destinations.

Recorded as part of TRA's International Visitor Survey (IVS) and National Visitor Survey (NVS), the reports provide a snapshot of domestic and overseas tourist activity in Queensland.
