Meet the New PATA Youth Interns

We have had the pleasure of welcoming new team members who joined us as Intern Associates and have been helping us support our objectives throughout the fourth quarter of 2023. We invite you to get to know them and their experience at PATA!

Aruna Ramdhan - Sustainability & Responsibility Center - Sustainability Intern

Hoi! I am Aruna and a Sustainability & Social responsibility associate at PATA. I am born and raised in the Netherlands. Recently, I have graduated with my master’ degree at Wageningen University and Research. I grew up travelling the globe and learned to love the environment and its wildlife. I quickly understood the importance of animals, different societies and nature itself. In particular, I developed an interest in tourism and environmental protection. The art of finding social related solutions for environmental problems makes me exited to work with PATA.

Bokyung Suh - Membership Intern

Hi everyone, I am BoKyung Suh from Republic of Korea (ROK). I love traveling so whenever I have time, I go on trips. Currently, I'm planning to live abroad for over a month by myself. I particularly enjoy experiencing the unique natural landscapes of each country during my travels. Additionally, I love meeting new people unexpectedly, listening to their stories, and sharing my own. My major is Tourism & Convention, and my favorite subject has been Sustainable Tourism Development. I believe that effective communication among various stakeholders is crucial to enhance sustainability in the tourism industry. That's why I applied for a position in the Membership department at PATA. Through this internship, I want to contribute to enhancing sustainability in the tourism industry by engaging with diverse individuals in the Membership department and addressing their needs.

Eunseo Kim - Marketing intern

Hello everyone! I'm Eunseo from Seoul, Korea (ROK). I am a tourism & communication studies major. I'm absolutely thrilled to be part of PATA as a Marketing intern this quarter. My deep-seated passion for exploring new travel horizons and using English as a bridge to connect with diverse cultures have always been a constant driving force for me. During my time here, I'm excited to work closely alongside seasoned industry experts and be part of the movement for sustainable and responsible tourism. I'm totally onboard with PATA's mission to make travel experiences extraordinary for everyone, and looking forward to this meaningful journey with PATA has me filled with enthusiasm. I hope to bring more innovative perspectives to the table here at PATA.

Jiwon Jang – Youth intern

Hello everyone, I'm Jiwon Jang from Korea (ROK). I'm currently studying Tourism and double majoring in Business Administration at Sookmyung Women's University. I am passionate about the tourism industry and always enjoy exploring new places and immersing myself in different cultures. Each day in this field brings new adventures, challenges, and opportunities to help others discover the wonders of the world. This personal connection to the wonders of the world has ignited my interest in the tourism industry. I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals, gaining valuable insights, and contributing to shaping the future of travel in this culturally rich part of the world. Being part of something meaningful and making a positive impact on the industry truly inspires me. I see this as an opportunity to contribute fresh ideas and develop professional capabilities. Moreover, this opportunity represents the first step in what I hope will be a rewarding career in an industry that I'm genuinely passionate about. I am ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with being part of PATA and bringing joy and adventure to people's lives.

Joshua Jo - Events Intern

Hey! I'm Joshua from Korea (ROK). I love experiencing new things interacting with different cultures. I myself am a Free Independent Traveler(Visited more than 20 countries), and the one thing that I ask myself when choosing a destination is, “Is there something Unique or Authentic there?” Tourists nowadays are very sensitive with trends so I believe that the key of being a successful destination is being able to offer Unique & Authentic experience to their visitors. I'm thrilled to be a part of this leader of tourism industry in the Asia Pacific region. I hope I could get the most out of the internship by learning about the killer contents of the destinations within the Asia Pacific region to achieve my goal to be a destination marketer.

Morgan Semone – Sustainability & Responsibility Center - Sustainability Intern

Hello everyone, my name is Morgan Semone. I am currently a university student attending Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. I am from the United States and Indonesia. My interests are in sustainability, government, foreign affairs and the improvement of the common people. At PATA, I worked as an intern for the Sustainability and Social Responsibility team known as the SSR team. Working with my team has been an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to attend the PATA events in Pokhara, Nepal and Sarawak Malaysia. I had an amazing time there meeting with several people with different expertise in the tourism/hospitality industry. I am so glad to be a part of the PATA family.

Tam Nhu (Hennie), Sustainability & Responsibility Center - Research Intern

Hi, I'm Tam Nhu. I was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. As a PATA intern, I am gaining valuable research experience and contributing to the organization's mission of promoting responsible tourism in the Asia-Pacific region. My expectation is to learn from seasoned professionals and make a meaningful impact on sustainable tourism practices.

About the PATA Internship Program

The PATA Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to learn about PATA and the travel & tourism industry on an international scale. Interns will be required to perform operational, support, and administrative tasks in various parts of the organization.
