Witness all the best elements of the spectacular Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in spring!

The famous snow corridor – a stretch of road that’s lined between two walls of packed snow up to 20m high – is open to pedestrians from mid-April to late June.

Spring is also the best time to spot other alpine icons, such as the unique minezakura, a dark pink species of cherry blossom that blooms in high altitudes, and the raicho, an iconic bird of Tateyama that’s famous for its red “eyebrows”.
