Mallorca’s top hotels reopen

Belmond La Residencia, Deía
The Balearic island of Mallorca has had one of the lowest rates of COVID19 in Spain and in the Mediterranean. It was also chosen as the first Spanish destination to undertake a trial study to allow German tourists into the island without quarantine and put the new health protocols to the test. 

Figures from the Mallorcan Hoteliers Federation, show some 300 hotels opened from under the new protocols of hygiene and health.

Many of the premium hotels on the island, which enjoy spacious rural and seaside locations were the first to open including :

Belmond La Residencia, Deía

The Castillo Son Vida 
Originally a 13th-century castle, converted into a grand hotel in 1961 with a terrace overlooking the Bay of Palma and the city. The 164 room hotel is located within its own grounds as is the Sheraton Arabella Golf Hotel and has the Arabella Golf Son Vida.

In Palma: The El Llorenç Parc de la Mar

The Fomento del Turismo 
The Fomento del Turismo (the Mallorca Tourist Board) was founded in 1905 and is the longest established tourist board in Spain and possibly the world. It is located in the centre of Palma and remains a private, independent and non-profit making supported by members from throughout the island’s tourism sector.
