Whale and Dolphin Watching off the shores of Mirissa (in the deep south of Sri Lanka)

Whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa is one of the most exciting water activities you can do in Sri Lanka during your holiday. In warm Indian Ocean you can see Blue whales, Bride’s whales, Sperm whales, Fin whales, sometimes Killer whales, and Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Spinner dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and Striped dolphins. Sometimes you can see turtles and various fish species, for example Bluefin tuna and flying fish (Starting from October to April)

• Early morning pick up from your beach hotel down south and proceed to Mirissa to the point of boarding the vessel out to sea / 0630 hrs. Pick up point: Beach hotel between Bentota to Tangalle
• Arrive Mirissa and board your vessel
• Proceed on your excursion out to sea
• View the exquisite mammals… both whales and dolphins off the southern coast of Sri Lanka… 

Often spotted blue whales are the biggest animals in the world and Mirissa is the best place for a whale and dolphin watching tour in Sri Lanka. Whale watching in Mirissa is seasonal from November to April.

The trip usually lasts 3-5 hours, the average duration is 4 hours.
