Christmas in Colombo

Christmas is always a special time in the city and is only amplified through the much awaited Park Street Mews Light Up to the multitude of Christmas sales, discounts and excitement that takes place. Schools are officially on holiday and leading up to the holiday, most corporate offices allow themselves to ease into the holiday spirit as well.

• While Sri Lanka may not have snow, we make up for it by way of its Christmas markets, sales and carnivals. To make it easier, we have compiled a list for you to help you get a head start with your shopping.
• The much-awaited Christmas Market at the Hilton Colombo starts from Sunday, December 01 2019, and will go on until Saturday, December 28, 2019. The Market will feature a range of Christmas goodies, homemade artisanal sausages, cold cuts, cheeses, jams with gold flakes, organic produce, French cognac butter and eggnog.
• Christmas Market at the Independence Arcade on Saturday, December 07 2019 from 10:00 am - 09:00 pm. The market will have a variety of curated Christmas specialities, drinks, gifts and decorations.
• The Selyn LOVE LOCAL Christmas pop up SALE will take place on Saturday, December 14 2019, at their flagship store. Selyn is the perfect place to find unique locally made, ethical and sustainable gifts this holiday season.
• The Christmas Fiesta - Shopping & Food Festival takes place from Saturday, December 21, 2019, till Sunday, December 22, 2019, at the Arcade Independence Square.
• A Christmas bake-sale will take place on Sunday, December 22 2019, at Plus Nine Four Cafe. All profits from the sale will be in aid of charity.
• Year End Shopping Carnival 2019 at BMICH from Friday, December 27 2019 - Monday, December 30, 2019.
