According to Can Tho City’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the 6th Southern Folk Cake Festival 2017 will be organized from 5 to 9 April 2017 at the campus of Can Tho Exhibition Fair and Trade - Investment Promotion Centre (No. 108A Le Loi Street, Cai Khe Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City).

The Southern Folk Cake Festival 2017 will have about 200 booths, including 100 Southern folk cake booths and 100 booths of specialties of other regions in Viet Nam. Especially, Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism will attend the festival as honour guest.

The highlight of this year’s festival is expression of the cultural values of Southern folk cakes through cake making culture, cake selling culture and cake enjoying culture with activities such as displaying traditional cake making utensils, cake making contest, performing cake making arts and serving folk cakes.

In the framework of the festival, many unique activities will take place such as performances of don ca tai tu music and song, unicorn dances, traditional music instruments and folk dances of ASEAN countries; folk games; promoting Can Tho tourism - cuisine, etc.

The Southern Folk Cake Festival is an annual cuisine culture event to preserve and promote the values of Southern folk cuisine, contribute to introducing typical folk cakes of the South region to domestic and international visitors.

This year’s festival is expected to attract 160,000 visitor arrivals.
