China To Electrify Taxi Industry

Government officials are pushing a citywide mandate for thousands of taxis to be replaced by electric versions, seriously decreasing the amount of pollution created.

Essentially, officials want to gradually replace the classic models and change over about 70,000 cars to electric autos that would not only limit the amount of smog in the city but also require the addition of charging stations.

This could eventually bring larger change the capital, as more drivers consider switching their own methods of transport to electric.
