InterContinental Da Nang makes World Travel Awards hat trick

The top-notch InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort in the central coastal city of Da Nang has been named as the World’s Leading Luxury Resort at the recent Gala ceremony of the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2016 in Maldives.

This year the resort received highest votes among 13 other candidates across the world from travel professionals and high-end tourism consumers worldwide.

With this victory, the InterContinental Da Nang Sun Penninsula Resort has become the world’s first and only one winning the WTA’s category in three years in a row, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

The 200-room hillside resort overlooking a blue sea was also crowned with the Asia’s leading Luxury Resort, Viet Nam’s Leading Resort and Viet Nam’s Leading Spa Resort titles of the World Travel Awards Asia and Australia 2015.

It was listed among the Asia’s leading resorts in the Reader’s Choice Awards 2016 conducted by the Conde Nas Travel Magazine.

Business Traveller Magazine also chose it as the Asia Pacific Ocean’s leading resort, while CNN voted the resort as one of the planet’s 21 most beautiful sea-view resorts.

Architect Bill Bensley of Bensley Design Studios in Bangkok designed the 197-room resort, located 600 metres above the sea level on the Son Tra Peninsula. InterContinental Da Nang is only 30 minutes from Da Nang International Airport and 45 minutes from the World Heritage Site of Hoi An.
