Visit HIROSHIMA

The old quarter of Takehara is one of only two officially recognised historical preservation districts in Hiroshima Prefecture. 

Originally famed for its salt and sake production, the old town and its historic buildings have been beautifully preserved. 

Takehara’s famous sake breweries are still producing high quality sake and the Fujii Brewery offers sake tastings on their premises. 

Easily accessible from Hiroshima City by train, Takehara is a must for anyone with a taste for traditional Japanese architecture and fine sake.
