EGYPTIAN MUMMIES OPENS AT THE POWERHOUSE

The world premiere exhibition of Egyptian Mummies will open at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney this weekend.

The exhibition includes six mummies who lived and died in Egypt between 1800 and 3000 years ago, alongside their 3D CT scan visualisations that unlock the secrets of mummification.

Using the latest technology, curators and researchers have been able to go beyond the wrappings to discover what lies beneath – from members of the religious elite to a two-year-old child – and virtually explore the lives of six ancient Egyptians.

Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives has been secured by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
