Ho Chi Minh City: Ice sculpture exhibition opens at Dam Sen Park

An exhibition of ice sculptures made by artisans from Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in China, has opened at Dam Sen Tourist Park in HCM City, and will remain open until September 2017.

“The ice world” features 18 replicas of iconic structures and spiritual and cultural symbols in Viet Nam and other countries, including the Lotus Tower in India, Great Stupa in Laos, Basil’s Cathedral in Russia, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Au Gang Maitreya, Ben Thanh Market in HCM City, One Pillar Pagoda in Ha Noi, and Dragon Bridge in Da Nang.

This exhibition features a combination of crystal clear and opalescent ice and non-ice works at minus 10 degrees Celsius.

Twenty artisans from Harbin and 50 Vietnamese engineers and technicians worked for a whole month to create the works.

The 2,000sq.m exhibition requires 750 cubic metres of ice and 2,000 colour lights.
