Spring into Sydney and Regional NSW's food and wine festivals

Spring has definitely sprung in New South Wales, with the warm days and balmy nights heralding the arrival of food and wine festivals across the State. There’s no better way to spend a Spring day than enjoying long lunches, lazy dinners and feasting on fresh, local produce with family and friends.

Here’s just a taste of the many food and wine festivals popping up across Sydney and Regional NSW this Spring:

Tweed Foodie Fest, 22 October and 3 December 2016

The rich volcanic soil of the picturesque Tweed Region in Northern NSW produces an abundance of locally grown produce. Tweed Foodie Fest is a paddock-to- plate experience where you can visit the farms, pick produce and enjoy the tastes of the Tweed created by the hands of local chefs. The festival has three upcoming events over the coming months.

Taste Riverina, now to  31 October 2016

The Taste Riverina Food Festival in Griffith is an annual month-long ‘menu of events’ throughout October, celebrating the year’s harvest and showcasing food, wine, beer and agricultural produce and experiences across the region. Events include tours, cooking classes, food treks, dinners, cafe specials, recipe competitions, local festivals, degustation menus, picnics and live music.

The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month, now to 31 October 2016

Synonymous with Sydney in Spring, The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month is returning to the harbour city this October. Throughout the entire month, Sydneysiders and visitors can expect a moveable feast of bartenders and baristas, providores and producers, plus a rollcall of NSW’s best restaurateurs and chefs headlining more than 185 delectable events. Highlights include the perennially popular Night Noodle Markets and new event Golden Century Midnight Feast,where guests can join acclaimed Sydney chefs, such as Tetsuya Wakuda, Neil Perry and Peter Gilmore, for behind-the-scenes experiencse of where and what chefs eat post-dinner service.

Orange Wine Festival, 14 – 30 October 2016

The eleventh annual Orange Wine Festival will feature two weeks of events and activities highlighting the region’s premium wines through tastings, educational workshops and food and wine celebrations with local produce. Signature events include new event, Party in the Vines, the Food and Wine Night Market in Robertson Park, Wine in the Vines and Wine Central.
