November Festivities Abound

The first weekend in November is musical! Get tickets to the Folk Festival and the Celtic Festival. There are evening performances by folk artists or the outdoor concerts Saturday and Sunday at the Center Street Ball Fields. Also during the day the Celtic Festival will be up at the Old Spanish Trail Arena with highland games, dance and bagpipe competitions.

If you are in Moab for the Trail Marathon, there will be ample past times after the determined race in the canyons of Kane Creek and Pritchett. If you are not an athlete volunteer your time to help out!

For ages 50+ the Moab Senior Games has eight games that are played over a four day span, November 9-12 2016. http://moabseniorgames.com/

Over the Veterans' Day weekend visitors may go into Arches and Canyonlands national parks for free on the 11th of November. The Moab Salsa Bachata Festival starts on the 11th continuing the 12th and 13th. Veterans get a nice price break, check it out http://www.bailandowithaview.com. The Art Walk will happen on November 12, Saturday night, from 6-9 PM. Saunter along in downtown to enjoy local and regional artists' works. Find the map on http://www.moabartwalk.com.

The Grand County High School will perform the musical, The Wizard of OZ. Nightly November 17, 18, 19 at the school auditorium, 608 Fourth East. The high school annual production is looked forward to all year.

Two foot races will be taking place on November 19th. The Dead Horse Ultra will be held on the Magnificent Seven Trails up in the Gemini Bridges area for long distance trail runners. Mad Moose Events has the Dead Horse Ultra http://www.madmooseevents.com . The 50 miler starts at 6 AM, the 50K at 7 AM and the 30K at 8 AM. While downtown, located out of the Moab Aquatics & Fitness Center the annual Turkey Trot has a fun run kid lap at 9 AM and the 5K race starts at 9:15 AM.

But you may be saving yourself for Thanksgiving in Moab. While you are here, check out the Moab International Film Festival. Held at the Historic Star Hall, 159 E Center Street, tickets are $5 a film or $30 for the weekend pass. The website http://www.moabfilmfestival.org has the schedule.
