The Metropolitan Museum of Art on the Upper East Side opened The Met Breuer [BROY-er] in March 2016 in a neighbourhood that is already home to some of the world’s most-renowned cultural institutions, restaurants, and shops, steps from Central Park, and is where some of New Yorkers have called home for generations. The new Met Breuer, housed in a landmark building designed by Marcel Breuer on Madison Avenue and 75th Street, provides a new space for visitors to explore collections of 20th and 21st-century contemporary and modern art in dialogue with the full scope of the museum’s collection.
