Whale Watching Tours Launch in the Whitsundays

Visitors to the Whitsundays will soon be able to get up close with humpback whales with new whale watching tours launching this season.

Ocean Dynamics will commence whale watching tours in the Whitsundays in time for the start of the annual whale watching season from 20 June this year.

Ocean Dynamics Director Carolyn Lewis said visitors on board the new tours will get the chance to observe the amazing animals up close.

“Seeing a mother humpback and its calf, whales breaching, tail slapping or a group of whales up close is a simply breath-taking moment and we look forward to sharing these experiences with the guests on board our tours.

“The tours will operate during whale season from late June – September with daily departures from Airlie Beach.

Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited Executive Director Jeff Aquilina said he was very excited about the new tours that will be an incredible experience for visitors to the Whitsundays.

“The tours will allow visitors an opportunity to experience an unforgettable natural encounter with the southern hemisphere's humpback whales as they travel north during their annual migration.

“Dedicated whale watching tours will further boost local tourism in the Whitsundays and will be a great addition to the experiences already on offer.

“Tours in the Whitsundays are already enjoying the added bonus of whale watching as they go about their daily trips to the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach and around the Whitsunday Islands but the new tours will allow visitors to have an exclusive experience while learning more about these amazing animals.

Ocean Dynamics is a past winner of the Whitsunday Tourism Awards in the Tour and Transport Operators division and has been operating charters in the region for over 10 years.

The company also offers Whitehaven Beach tours, snorkelling, diving and overnight charter options.
