Get Set For A Night Of Mystery At Palates Of Port

Palates of Port
It will be a night of mystery and intrigue as Port Douglas Carnivale’s signature event Palates of Port prepares for a Masquerade Ball like no other.

Tommy Young, head chef and co-owner of Port Douglas Catering and Events, and organiser of Palates of Port said guests would be transported to a world of glitz and glamour as they explored exquisite wines and flavours over a delectable, degustation dinner under the stars in one of Port Douglas’ most iconic locations for this year’s Palates of Port.

Now in its sixth year, the 2015 theme will have the elegance and opulence of the Rococo era at the venue for the night – the historic Port Douglas Sugar Wharf, on Saturday May 30.

“We are continuing on with the tradition of the Sugar Wharf as it is quite simply one of the most breathtaking locations for an event in Port Douglas overlooking Dickson Inlet with the Daintree mountains as the backdrop.

“The Masquerade Ball promises to be our most glamorous and stylish theme so far,” Mr Young added.

Showcasing their creative talents will be local restaurants’ Salsa Bar & Grill, Harrisons Restaurant, 2Fish, Nautilus and Port Douglas Catering & Events, who have already promised to entice the tastebuds of guests with their culinary delights.

“Guests can expect a world class dining experience and each restaurant involved will design their course to showcase the region’s local ingredients,” Mr Young said.

This much anticipated banquet promises accompanying wines that will be handpicked to bring out the best in each dish.

Tickets are $175 per person. Bookings can be made through the Carnivale website booking system at www.carnivale.com.au. Dinner starts at 5.30pm.

So dust off the pearls and glam up for what is expected to be one of the main highlights of Port Douglas’ Carnivale this year.
