The Savour Australia Restaurant & Caterer’s Awards are the most dependable and authorative guide to Australia’s best restaurants and caterers. With 1500 entrants and more than 500 highly trained judges, these awards sets the national benchmark. In order for a restaurant or caterer to qualify for the National Awards, they must first win their state category.
Tropical North Queensland was highlighted on a national scale this year with three restaurants from three prominent areas taking out a prestigious prize. Bayleaf in Cairns won Best Specialty Restaurant; Jam Corner in Townsville won Best Breakfast and of course Salsa Bar & Grill won Best Restaurant Caterer.
The Award for Best Restaurant Caterer focuses on the execution of a catering service within a venue at the highest possible standard. Judges look at everything from the layout of the restaurant, the lighting, table settings, the presentation & consistency of the food being served, the style & professionalism in which service is conducted as well as the guest satisfaction.
Restaurant Manager Renae Reddrop said “the success of Salsa has always come down to listening to what the client needs and offering a great consistently. It could be someone’s wedding, corporate function or birthday party, we make sure we hit the mark every time. This is a great boost for the restaurant industry as well as the wedding industry for North QLD, Port Douglas in particular”.
