The nation’s largest national Indigenous arts and culture festival, Corroboree Sydney has commenced, with more than 100 artists performing during an eleven day program of exhibitions, talks, performances, live music, films, readings and forums.
Festival highlights include the symbolic Firelight Ceremony and a chance to meet the makers at the Black Arts Market; Homeground, a curated dance and music weekend on the boardwalk of Sydney Opera House; and festival hub 'The Rocks Boatshed' at West Circular Quay.
Corroboree Sydney culminates in a special performance by Bangarra Dance Theatre on the Sydney Opera House western forecourt to mark their 25th anniversary.
