December Fairs and Festivals Deliver a Slice of Americana in California's Gold Country

Carolling in the Cave
A visit to California's Gold Country, where gold was discovered in 1849, is perfect any time of year with the state's temperate climate.  But to step back in history or experience that small town feeling, here are some unique and notable events to consider when making plans to visit California.

CAROLLING IN THE CAVE, annually one Friday evening in December
Hear beautiful Christmas carols sung a capella by a local choir inside Moaning Cavern's massive main chamber. Incredible natural acoustics lend depth and vibrancy to the music and the beautiful underground environment adds an air of mystery. Attendees are encouraged to sing along and are delighted by the surprise appearance of Santa rappelling 165 feet into the cave bearing gifts. www.caverntours.com/concert/concerts-in-the-cave.html
