National Parks and Wildlife Service’s (NPWS) Campground Host Program is seeking volunteers to assist with the operation of the program during the coming summer holidays in New South Wales Australia..
A Campground Host welcomes new campers to the park and helps them settle in. They become the ‘go to’ person at the campground for park information as well as advice on activities and things to do in the local area. In return the campground hosts are provided with a free camp site, training and on-going support from the NPWS.

NPWS is seeking people who love camping, are good communicators and enjoy being around people to take part in the program. As the program covers the summer holidays, there’s an opportunity to volunteer at more than one park.
Twelve campgrounds throughout NSW will participate in the program over summer, including:

Ben Boyd National Park - Saltwater and Bittangabee
Bournda National Park - Hobart Beach
Bundajalung National Park - Blackrocks
Border Ranges - Sheepstation Creek
Munmorah State Conservation Area - Freemans
Meroo National Park - Meroo Head and Termeil
Myall Lakes National Park - Little Poverty Beach
Hill End National Park - Glendora and Village
Bents Basin State Conservation Area -Bents Basin.
Volunteers give one to two weeks during the school holidays and attend a mandatory training session. In return, they receive a free campsite and can earn an All Parks Pass after 50 hours work.

Applications close on 20 October 2012. Successful applicants will be required to attend a workshop on either the North Coast or in Sydney on the weekends of 30 November - 2 December or 7- 8 December respectively.
