Tiger Airways Grounded

Tiger Airways, the newest budget airline in Australia, was ordered to cease all flights from midnight last Friday. This was done in the interests of passengers safety, with the reason given the Airline flew too low on two recent occasions. Tiger Airways has been given until this Saturday to satisfy CASA. (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) that they are a safe airline before they are allowed to resume flights.

The unfortunate victims are the people who have booked flights with Tiger and have their travel plans upset. Many families had booked flights with Tiger as it is the start of the NSW school holidays this week. In a normal week Tiger has a fleet of 10 Airbus A320s and carries more than 70,000 people.a week.

Apart from Tiger losing money as a result of not flying, other causalities will be hotels, restaurants and other businesses who have lost patronage. It is to be hoped that Tiger will soon be given permission to fly in the skies soon, as Australia needs several budget airlines.
