Vietnam's Spectacular Beaches: Discover Paradise Along 3,260 Kilometres of Coastline

Da Nang
Vietnam is rapidly emerging as one of Asia's most exciting beach destinations, offering travellers an extraordinary collection of coastal escapes stretching across an impressive 3,260 kilometres of shoreline. Bordering the Pacific Ocean along much of its eastern edge, Vietnam boasts an incredible diversity of beaches, from vibrant seaside cities and luxurious resort enclaves to tranquil islands and untouched coastal retreats.

Whether travellers are seeking relaxation, golf holidays, wellness escapes, cultural discoveries or tropical island adventures, Vietnam's beaches provide year-round opportunities to experience some of Southeast Asia's most breathtaking coastal scenery.

Why Vietnam Is One of Asia's Best Beach Destinations

While the world-famous Ha Long Bay often captures international attention with its dramatic limestone karsts rising from emerald waters, many of Vietnam's finest beaches are found in the central and southern regions of the country.

The nation's varied geography means travellers can enjoy different coastal experiences throughout the year. From surfing and swimming to golf, wellness retreats and luxury island escapes, Vietnam offers something for every style of traveller.

Combined with exceptional hospitality, world-class resorts, delicious cuisine and remarkable value for money, Vietnam's beaches continue to attract growing numbers of international visitors.

Da Nang: Vietnam's Coastal Playground

Frequently compared to Hawaii because of its stunning combination of mountains and ocean, Da Nang is one of Vietnam's premier beach destinations.

The city boasts approximately 60 kilometres of coastline, with My Khe Beach standing out as one of the country's most famous stretches of sand. This beautiful six-kilometre beach is ideal for swimming, surfing, beach walks and watching spectacular sunrises over the Pacific Ocean.

Da Nang is also Vietnam's leading golf destination, featuring several internationally acclaimed courses including Hoiana Shores, BRG Da Nang Golf Resort and Laguna Golf Lang Co. Many courses offer stunning ocean views and championship-quality layouts.

Luxury beach resorts such as Furama Resort, Pullman Da Nang Beach Resort, TIA Wellness Resort and Naman Retreat provide direct access to pristine beaches while delivering exceptional service and facilities.

Hoi An: Where History Meets the Sea

Just south of Da Nang lies the enchanting UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An, one of Vietnam's most beloved destinations.

Famous for its beautifully preserved historic architecture, lantern-lit streets and rich cultural heritage, Hoi An also offers excellent beach experiences. An Bang Beach and Cua Dai Beach provide visitors with relaxed coastal settings that perfectly complement the charm of the ancient town.

Unlike bustling Da Nang, Hoi An offers a more peaceful atmosphere where travellers can divide their days between cultural exploration and beachfront relaxation.

The area is also home to luxury resorts, wellness retreats and easy access to nearby golf courses, making it a popular destination for couples and leisure travellers.

Long before Da Nang became internationally famous, Nha Trang was Vietnam's leading beach destination.

Today, the city continues to attract visitors with its sweeping bays, vibrant atmosphere and impressive collection of luxury resorts. Nha Trang offers an appealing combination of beach life, wellness experiences, golf and cultural attractions.

Travellers can enjoy island-hopping cruises, snorkelling adventures, visits to the historic Po Nagar Cham Towers and rejuvenating mud bath experiences.

Nearby luxury resorts including Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, Amanoi, Fusion Resort Cam Ranh and Mia Resort have helped establish the region as one of Southeast Asia's premier wellness destinations.

Phan Thiet and Mui Ne: Sun, Sand and Spectacular Dunes

Located just a few hours from Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Thiet and nearby Mui Ne offer some of Vietnam's most accessible beach escapes.

Famous for its long sandy beaches, reliable sunshine and dramatic sand dunes, Mui Ne provides a unique coastal landscape unlike anywhere else in the country.

Visitors can watch the sunrise over the White Sand Dunes, admire the sunset from the Red Sand Dunes and enjoy a wide range of water sports and outdoor activities.

The region is also home to several excellent beach resorts and golf courses, making it a favourite destination for short coastal getaways.

Con Dao: Vietnam's Hidden Island Paradise

For travellers seeking seclusion and natural beauty, Con Dao remains one of Vietnam's best-kept secrets.

This remote island archipelago offers pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters and a peaceful atmosphere largely untouched by mass tourism. The islands are particularly famous for marine conservation and seasonal sea turtle nesting.

Luxury properties such as Six Senses Con Dao and Poulo Condor Boutique Resort provide exceptional accommodation while maintaining harmony with the natural environment.

Visitors can enjoy snorkelling, island cruises, hiking and wildlife experiences in one of Vietnam's most protected natural regions.

Phu Quoc: Vietnam's Tropical Island Escape

Phu Quoc
Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Phu Quoc has rapidly become one of Vietnam's most popular island destinations.

Known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, vibrant seafood culture and luxury resorts, the island offers an ideal combination of relaxation and adventure.

Popular beaches such as Bai Sao, Long Beach and Khem Beach attract visitors seeking tropical beauty, while the southern islands provide excellent opportunities for snorkelling and diving.

Phu Quoc is also unique as Vietnam's only destination offering visa-free entry for many international visitors staying up to 30 days, making it particularly attractive for overseas travellers.

Golf and Wellness by the Sea

The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram in Vietnam
One of Vietnam's greatest strengths as a beach destination is its ability to combine coastal relaxation with world-class golf and wellness experiences.

Many beachfront resorts feature award-winning spas, wellness programs and easy access to championship golf courses designed by some of the sport's biggest names.

This combination has helped position Vietnam as one of Asia's fastest-growing destinations for luxury leisure travel.

A Beach for Every Traveller

Few countries can match Vietnam's diversity of coastal experiences. Whether travellers are searching for vibrant city beaches, heritage-rich seaside towns, luxury wellness retreats, island hideaways or championship golf holidays, Vietnam delivers an extraordinary range of options along its stunning coastline.

Step Inside an Australian Masterpiece: Discover The Cedars and the New Heysen Gallery in Hahndorf

The Heysen Gallery
For travellers seeking a memorable blend of history, art, heritage and breathtaking gardens, few destinations in South Australia rival The Cedars at Hahndorf. Long regarded as one of Australia's most treasured historic homes, this remarkable estate has become even more compelling with the opening of the brand-new Heysen Gallery, offering visitors an extraordinary journey through the lives and works of two of Australia's greatest artists.

Located just minutes from the charming main street of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, The Cedars invites visitors to experience the landscapes that inspired generations of Australian art.

A New Chapter Opens with the Heysen Gallery

From 4 July, visitors can experience an exciting new attraction as the Heysen Gallery officially opens its doors with the inaugural exhibition, Heysen: A Shared Legacy.

The exhibition celebrates the artistic achievements of Sir Hans Heysen and his daughter, Nora Heysen, presenting an exceptional collection of works that reveal two distinct artistic voices connected by a shared love of South Australia.

Visitors can admire Sir Hans Heysen's magnificent paintings of towering eucalyptus forests, glowing light and rugged Australian landscapes before discovering Nora Heysen's beautifully observed portraits, still-life paintings and intimate glimpses into everyday Australian life.

Together, their works tell the story of a remarkable family whose influence helped shape Australian art for generations.

Walk Through Living Australian History

The Cedars is far more than an art gallery. It is the original family home where Sir Hans Heysen, his wife Sallie and their eight children built a life surrounded by nature.

Purchased in 1912, the property originally covered 36 acres before expanding to an impressive 132 acres. Today, many of the magnificent trees planted by Hans himself continue to flourish, creating one of the most beautiful historic gardens in South Australia.

Every corner of the estate reflects the artist's deep respect for the Australian landscape and his passion for conservation long before environmental protection became widely recognised.

Walking through the gardens offers visitors a rare opportunity to stand in the very locations that inspired many of Australia's most celebrated landscape paintings.

Explore the Home That Welcomed Royalty and World Celebrities

The Cedars
The beautifully preserved family home offers a fascinating glimpse into the private world of one of Australia's most celebrated artists.

Expert-guided tours take visitors through elegantly furnished rooms where original artworks remain displayed alongside family treasures and personal belongings.

Throughout the decades, The Cedars welcomed an extraordinary list of distinguished guests, including members of royalty and internationally renowned figures from the worlds of ballet, opera and film.

One of the home's most intriguing stories involves legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova, who became captivated by a very unexpected painting during her visit. Discovering the artwork that caught her attention has become one of the many delightful surprises awaiting guests.

Step Inside Sir Hans Heysen's Original Studio

The Cedars
Perhaps the most moving experience at The Cedars is entering Sir Hans Heysen's original artist's studio.

Unlike many historic studios that have been recreated, this remarkable space remains virtually untouched. Easels, brushes, palettes, sketches, paints and unfinished works remain exactly where the artist left them, creating the remarkable impression that he has simply stepped outside for a few moments.

For art lovers, it offers an incredibly rare opportunity to witness the working environment of one of Australia's finest landscape painters exactly as it existed during his lifetime.

The studio provides fascinating insight into Heysen's creative process and the techniques that enabled him to capture the distinctive light, texture and grandeur of the Australian bush.

A Perfect Day Trip in the Adelaide Hills

The Cedars
Combining world-class art, beautifully maintained gardens, rich Australian history and the picturesque surroundings of Hahndorf, The Cedars offers one of South Australia's most rewarding day-trip experiences.

Visitors can spend hours wandering beneath towering gum trees, exploring historic buildings, discovering artistic treasures and gaining a deeper appreciation of Australia's cultural heritage before enjoying the cafés, boutiques and local produce that have made Hahndorf one of the state's most popular destinations.

Whether you are passionate about Australian art, fascinated by history or simply looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by natural beauty, The Cedars delivers an unforgettable experience that appeals to every generation.

The opening of the new Heysen Gallery makes this the perfect time to rediscover one of South Australia's greatest cultural treasures.

Explore Little Tokyo Los Angeles: The Ultimate Walking Guide to Culture, Cuisine and Hidden Gems

Shohei Ohtani on the side of the Miyako Hotel
Just a few blocks from the heart of Downtown Los Angeles lies one of the city's most fascinating cultural treasures. Little Tokyo is far more than a shopping and dining precinct—it's a living celebration of Japanese American history, art, food and community that has been welcoming visitors for well over a century.

Whether you're attending Anime Expo, exploring Downtown LA or simply searching for one of California's most authentic cultural neighbourhoods, Little Tokyo offers an unforgettable day of discovery on foot.

One of America's Historic Japantowns

Established in the 1880s, Little Tokyo has grown into one of only three officially recognised Japantowns in the United States. Covering approximately five city blocks, the district remains the cultural heart of Southern California's Japanese American community.

In 1995, Little Tokyo was designated a National Historic Landmark District in recognition of its rich heritage and historical importance. Each summer, the neighbourhood comes alive during the famous Nisei Week Festival, celebrating Japanese culture through traditional performances, food, music, parades and community events.

Today, visitors experience an exciting blend of old traditions and contemporary Japanese culture, making Little Tokyo one of Los Angeles' most rewarding neighbourhoods to explore.

1) Begin Your Journey at the DoubleTree by Hilton

Kyoto Gardens at DoubleTree by Hilton in
Little Tokyo Photo: Yuri Hasegawa
An excellent starting point for exploring Little Tokyo is the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Los Angeles Downtown.

The hotel blends modern comfort with elegant Japanese-inspired design, creating a peaceful atmosphere in the middle of bustling Downtown Los Angeles. One of its hidden treasures is the beautiful rooftop Kyoto Gardens, where landscaped pathways, traditional design elements and tranquil surroundings provide a welcome escape from the city's energy.

The hotel's Justice Urban Tavern serves locally inspired cuisine alongside craft beers, while the Rendezvous Lounge offers a relaxed space for drinks before or after your neighbourhood adventure.

Located beside Weller Court Shopping Centre, visitors are also perfectly positioned to browse specialty Japanese stores, cafés and supermarkets before beginning their walking tour.

2) Discover the Story of Japanese America

Japanese American National Museum
No visit to Little Tokyo is complete without learning about the remarkable history of Japanese Americans.

The Japanese American National Museum has long been recognised internationally for preserving and sharing stories of immigration, resilience, culture and community. Through exhibitions, educational programs and historical collections, the museum highlights the experiences of Japanese Americans and their lasting contribution to American society.

The museum is currently undergoing major renovations and is expected to reopen in late 2026, making future visits even more rewarding.

3) Shop for Exclusive Japanese Street Style

Year of the Dragon t-shirts at Japangeles

Little Tokyo is a paradise for shoppers seeking unique fashion and gifts unavailable anywhere else.

One standout is Japangeles, a proudly Los Angeles-designed streetwear brand that creatively combines Japanese traditions with Southern California style. Designs feature familiar Japanese icons including Mount Fuji, bonsai trees, lucky cats and geishas, all reimagined with a modern urban twist.

Because many items are sold exclusively from the Little Tokyo store, visiting in person becomes part of the shopping experience.

Nearby, POP Little Tokyo offers another must-visit destination filled with quirky fashion, independent clothing labels, vintage finds, vinyl records, toys, jewellery and novelty gifts that perfectly reflect the neighbourhood's youthful creative spirit.

4) Experience World-Class Contemporary Art

Barbara Kruger, Untitled (Questions) at
The Geffen Contemporary Photo: MOCA
Art lovers will find another cultural highlight at The Geffen Contemporary, part of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA).

Housed inside a beautifully converted industrial warehouse redesigned by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, the gallery regularly presents thought-provoking contemporary exhibitions by internationally acclaimed artists.

One of its most recognisable features is Barbara Kruger's monumental public artwork, Untitled (Questions), which stretches across the building's exterior and has become an iconic landmark within Los Angeles' vibrant arts community.

The gallery perfectly complements Little Tokyo's blend of historic tradition and modern creativity.

5) Honouring Extraordinary Courage

Go for Broke Monument in Little Tokyo

Just a short walk away stands one of the neighbourhood's most moving landmarks—the Go For Broke Monument.

This striking memorial honours more than 16,000 Japanese American soldiers who served during the Second World War, including members of the legendary 442nd Regimental Combat Team.

Despite facing discrimination at home, these soldiers became one of the most highly decorated military units in American history, earning thousands of medals for bravery and sacrifice.

The monument serves as a powerful reminder of courage, resilience and patriotism, making it an essential stop for visitors interested in both history and human stories.

Taste, Explore and Experience Little Tokyo

Little Tokyo is one of those rare places where every street offers something new to discover.

Traditional Japanese bakeries stand beside modern ramen bars, sushi restaurants, matcha cafés and sake bars. Boutique stores share the streets with art galleries, cultural centres and peaceful public spaces that invite visitors to slow down and enjoy the neighbourhood's welcoming atmosphere.

Whether you're hunting for authentic Japanese cuisine, unique shopping, fascinating history or simply one of Los Angeles' most walkable districts, Little Tokyo delivers an experience unlike anywhere else in Southern California.

Adelaide Airport to Host CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific 2026

Adelaide
Adelaide Airport will host the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific 2026, bringing the region’s most influential aviation leaders to South Australia at a time of unprecedented growth, investment and international connectivity.

Taking place at the iconic Adelaide Oval on July 28-29, 2026, the summit will bring together airline executives, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss the latest trends, opportunities, and challenges shaping aviation in the Australia Pacific region and beyond.

Over the last year, Adelaide Airport recorded its highest passenger numbers on record, welcoming more than 8.7 million travellers during Financial Year 2025, up 2.1% year-on-year and exceeding pre-pandemic traffic levels by 2.4%.

International connectivity has been a cornerstone of Adelaide Airport’s growth strategy. January 2026 marked the airport’s busiest month ever for international passengers, with more than 128,000 travellers, representing growth of 21% compared with the same period a year earlier. The airport's accelerating global profile has been reinforced by a series of major airline developments. United Airlines launched its first-ever direct service between Adelaide and San Francisco, Qantas resumed direct international operations from Adelaide for the first time in more than a decade, and Emirates selected the airport for the deployment of its first ultra-long-range aircraft within its global network on the Dubai route.

The airport’s AUD600 million “Project Flight” program is underway, aimed at expanding terminal capacity, adding new gates and aircraft parking, and introducing advanced passenger processing technology to support growth through 2050.

Adelaide Airport is also evolving into a key commercial and innovation hub, leveraging its proximity to the CBD. Aerospace, defence, logistics, advanced manufacturing, and technology businesses are becoming central to the airport’s ecosystem, aligning with South Australia’s strengths in defence, space technology, and renewable energy.

Australia’s aviation sector remains resilient, with demand strong across domestic and international markets, driven by population growth, inbound tourism, and leisure travel. Throughout the summit, C-suite executives will deliver high-level discussions on how the sector can capitalise on growth opportunities while navigating key challenges, including rising operating costs, aircraft availability, engine reliability concerns, and supply chain pressures.

Claudia Kunz, Senior Director – Events at CAPA, said: "The CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific 2026 promises to be a pivotal gathering for aviation leaders and industry stakeholders. Adelaide Airport's remarkable growth and transformation make it the perfect host for this event, showcasing the resilience and innovation driving the Australian aviation sector. We are excited to bring together global leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of aviation in this dynamic region." – Claudia Kunz, Senior Director - Events, CAPA

Brenton Cox, Managing Director, Adelaide Airport, added:
“It’s always important for our aviation industry to collaborate. This year CAPA comes at a time when global traffic flows, supply chains and networks are navigating the ripple effects of global conflict – the need for our industry to act as a connecting and collaborating force has never been greater. Having the eyes of the global aviation market on Adelaide at such a critical phase provides us with an invaluable opportunity to highlight South Australia as a leading tourism and business events destination, while also showcasing our seamless and easy facilities such as our expanding domestic and international terminal.”

The CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific will take place on July 28-29, 2026, in Adelaide. For more information about the event, please visit: CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific 2026

Ignite Your Senses at China's Spectacular Torch Festival in Yunnan

Torch Festival in Yunnan
Every summer, the mountains and villages of southwest China are transformed into a sea of dancing flames as thousands of glowing torches illuminate the night sky. The Torch Festival in Yunnan is one of China's most vibrant ethnic celebrations, bringing together ancient traditions, colourful cultural performances and unforgettable community festivities.

Celebrated primarily by the Yi people and several other ethnic minorities across Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, the Torch Festival is a remarkable display of heritage that has been passed down through countless generations. Rich in symbolism and excitement, it offers visitors an authentic cultural experience unlike any other in China.

In 2026, the Torch Festival will be celebrated on 6 and 7 August.

An Ancient Festival Rooted in Fire Worship

The Torch Festival traces its origins back thousands of years to ancient fire-worship rituals.

For generations, fire has symbolised purification, protection, prosperity and life. Local communities believed that flames could drive away harmful insects and pests while protecting crops and ensuring abundant harvests during the agricultural season.

Although modern farming methods have replaced many traditional practices, the symbolic importance of fire remains at the heart of the celebration. Today, the festival continues to honour both nature and the enduring cultural identity of China's ethnic minority communities.

A Night of Thousands of Flaming Torches

As darkness falls, villages across Yunnan come alive with an extraordinary spectacle.

Families carefully construct torches from dried pine wood and place them outside their homes. At sunset, every torch is lit, bathing entire villages in a warm golden glow that can be seen from surrounding hillsides.

Residents then carry smaller torches through their fields, around their homes and along mountain paths in a symbolic act of blessing the land and protecting future harvests.

From a distance, the winding lines of flickering lights create the breathtaking illusion of giant fire dragons moving across the mountains, producing one of China's most memorable cultural landscapes.

Music, Dance and Traditional Celebrations

As the evening progresses, villagers gather around towering bonfires where traditional music fills the air. Men and women dressed in colourful ethnic costumes dance together, sing folk songs and celebrate well into the night.

Visitors are warmly welcomed to experience many of these performances, providing a rare opportunity to witness living traditions that have survived for centuries.

The lively atmosphere creates unforgettable memories for photographers, cultural enthusiasts and travellers looking for authentic experiences beyond China's major cities.

Exciting Traditional Sports and Village Competitions

Throughout the festival, a wide range of traditional sporting events showcase the strength, skill and competitive spirit of local communities.

Horse racing remains one of the festival's biggest attractions, with skilled riders demonstrating impressive horsemanship before enthusiastic crowds.

Bullfighting, conducted according to local customs, has long been part of the celebration, while archery competitions and traditional wrestling contests attract competitors from neighbouring villages.

These events preserve ancient customs while providing exciting entertainment for both residents and visitors.

Market stalls offer locally produced handicrafts, embroidered textiles, traditional jewellery, handmade souvenirs and regional delicacies unique to southwest China.
