Mov’in Bed Cinema

Sydney is getting ready for another summer of outdoor entertainment as Mov’in Bed Cinema returns on 4 December 2026 with its unique combination of movies, comfortable beds, food and waterfront views. Moving to a brand-new location at Pyrmont Bay Park, this popular outdoor cinema experience promises memorable evenings beneath the stars.

Combining the comfort of a cosy night at home with the excitement of a night out, Mov’in Bed Cinema offers a different way to enjoy blockbuster movies, Christmas favourites and romantic classics against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney Harbour.

A New Waterfront Home for Mov’in Bed Cinema

The new Pyrmont Bay Park location brings the outdoor cinema experience to Sydney’s waterfront, offering moviegoers an atmospheric setting for summer evenings. With a giant four-k screen, noise-cancelling headphones and Sydney Harbour as the backdrop, the event combines modern cinema technology with an open-air setting.

Whether planning a date night, catching up with friends or enjoying a special evening with family, Mov’in Bed Cinema offers an alternative to traditional cinemas and conventional outdoor movie screenings.

The experience is designed around comfort, with upgraded queen-size and king-size beds providing more room to relax while watching a film. Guests can settle in, enjoy the movie and soak up the atmosphere of a Sydney summer night.

One of the defining features of Mov’in Bed Cinema is its signature bed seating. Instead of sitting in conventional cinema chairs, guests can stretch out and enjoy their chosen film in a relaxed setting.

Food and CASA Spirits cocktails can be served directly to guests’ beds, adding a distinctive dining element to the experience. Combined with noise-cancelling headphones and the large screen, the concept brings together the convenience of home entertainment and the social atmosphere of an outdoor event.

For visitors looking for unusual things to do in Sydney during summer, this waterfront cinema offers a memorable option for an evening out.

Christmas Classics and Anticipated Blockbusters

The season opens with a selection of festive favourites, including Home Alone, Elf and Love Actually. These popular films provide a seasonal soundtrack for December evenings and make the cinema an appealing outing for couples, families and groups of friends.

The programme is also set to feature anticipated releases, including Avengers: Doomsday, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and The Odyssey, alongside cult classics and romantic favourites.

Movie schedules and screening dates will help visitors choose an evening that suits their interests. With a varied programme spanning comedy, romance, action and adventure, the season is designed to appeal to different audiences.
