Raise a Glass by the Harbour as Balmoral by the Glass Celebrates 20 Years of Mudgee Wine

Balmoral by the Glass
One of Sydney's favourite food and wine events is returning to the beautiful shores of Balmoral Beach, with Balmoral by the Glass celebrating its 20th anniversary on Sunday 23 August 2026. Hosted by the Mudgee Wine Association, this much-loved annual festival brings the flavours, people and hospitality of the Mudgee Region to Sydney for a full day of premium wine tasting, gourmet food, live entertainment and family-friendly fun.

Set against the spectacular backdrop of Balmoral Beach Rotunda overlooking Middle Harbour, the free-entry event offers visitors the perfect opportunity to experience one of New South Wales' premier wine regions without leaving the city.

Twenty Years of Celebrating Mudgee Wine

For the past two decades, Balmoral by the Glass has introduced thousands of Sydneysiders and visitors to the outstanding wines and welcoming personalities that have helped establish the Mudgee Region as one of Australia's leading wine and food destinations.

The milestone event celebrates not only exceptional cool-climate wines but also the strong connection between Mudgee's passionate winemakers and the people who enjoy discovering new regional experiences.

Mudgee Wine Association President Tom Dunstan said the festival has spent twenty years introducing Sydney audiences to the wines, people and hospitality that define the Mudgee Region.

He said the event offers visitors the opportunity to meet the winemakers and producers behind the labels, discover new favourite wines and experience the warmth and authenticity that have made Mudgee one of New South Wales' most popular tourism destinations.

Meet the Winemakers Behind the Labels

A highlight of Balmoral by the Glass is the chance to meet the people who grow the grapes and craft the wines.

Almost 20 wineries and producers from the Mudgee Region will be showcasing their latest releases, award-winning vintages and popular cellar door favourites.

Among the participating wineries are Lowe Family Wine, Logan Wines, De Beaurepaire Wines and Bunnamagoo Estate, together with many other respected Mudgee producers.

Visitors will have the opportunity to sample a wide range of premium wines while learning directly from the winemakers about their vineyards, winemaking techniques and the unique characteristics that make Mudgee wines so highly regarded.

More Than a Wine Festival

While wine is the star attraction, Balmoral by the Glass offers something for everyone.

Guests can enjoy gourmet food from regional and Sydney vendors, sample boutique spirits, relax with live music and soak up the relaxed atmosphere beside one of Sydney's most picturesque beaches.

Families are also warmly welcomed, with face painting and children's activities creating an enjoyable day out for visitors of all ages.

Dog lovers will also appreciate that the event is pet-friendly, making it easy to bring four-legged family members along for the celebrations.
