Undies, Outback and Outright Fun: Mundi Mundi Bash Festivalgoers Stripped Down for Charity

The 2026 Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash had delivered another unforgettable celebration of Australian music, outback adventure and community spirit, with festivalgoers taking part in one of the country's most unusual charity events, the Mundi Undi Run.

Held on Saturday 22 August on the spectacular Mundi Mundi Plains, the cheeky 1km fun run had encouraged participants to leave their inhibitions behind, dress up in their wildest outfits and run or walk across the famous red dirt. Every dollar raised from the event had gone to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, supporting vital healthcare for people living in remote and rural Australia.

A Fun Run With a Serious Purpose

The Mundi Undi Run had combined plenty of laughter with an important cause. Costumes had been strongly encouraged, while participants had been invited to embrace the festival's famously relaxed outback spirit.

The $35 entry fee had supported the Royal Flying Doctor Service, making the event much more than a novelty attraction. After completing the run, participants had also been able to take part in the Best Dressed Fashion Parade, giving creative festivalgoers another opportunity to showcase their outfits.

The Mundi Mundi Bash had raised more than $1 million for charity across its events since 2022, demonstrating the remarkable generosity of its festival community.

Music, Mateship and the Outback

The Mundi Mundi Bash had taken place from 20 to 22 August 2026 at Mundiville on the Mundi Mundi Plains, approximately 35 kilometres from Broken Hill. The festival had combined three nights of live Australian music with camping, outback activities and spectacular desert scenery.

The impressive 2026 line-up had featured The Teskey Brothers, Jon Stevens, John Butler, Boy & Bear, Baby Animals, Jessica Mauboy, The Whitlams, Leo Sayer, Tim Finn, Mi-Sex, Troy Cassar-Daley, Chocolate Starfish, Wendy Matthews, The Radiators, Fanny Lumsden, 19-Twenty, Shane Howard, Furnace and the Fundamentals, Hot Potato Band, Tom Busby and Wes Carr, alongside the Legacy – 60 Years of Fleetwood Mac performance.

An Outback Festival With Heart

Beyond the music and entertainment, the Mundi Mundi Bash had continued to make a significant contribution to regional New South Wales. The organisers reported that the festival and its visitors had generated more than $17 million in economic impact for regional and outback communities.

The festival had also supported Beyond Blue through Big Blue Day and continued to promote community, charity and the unique character of Australia's outback.

With its spectacular setting, major Australian music line-up and wonderfully unconventional Mundi Undi Run, the 2026 Mundi Mundi Bash had once again shown why the Broken Hill region had become an increasingly popular destination for festival and outback tourism.
