Affectionately known as ‘Husky’, the town continues to showcase the strength of Shoalhaven’s visitor economy and the passion of its local community, with consistent recognition at both state and national levels.
“After winning gold three years running, being placed in the Hall of Fame is an incredible achievement for this tiny town, and a tribute to the passionate community and outstanding businesses who consistently prove that Huskisson is a giant in the Australian tourism market,” said Mayor Patricia White.
“This is an exceptional result for this beautiful coastal town of the Shoalhaven and a testament to the quality of the visitor experience being delivered year after year,” Cr White said.
“While the weather may be cooling, our tourism offering is heating up—with wine, whales and foodie trails drawing visitors across the winter months. Year-round visitation is critical to the sustainability of tourism in our region,” said Tourism Marketing Specialist, Kristy Mayhew.
“We encourage people to plan a trip, experience what makes Huskisson so special, and support our local businesses.” Ms Mayhew said.
Shoalhaven City Council’s tourism team have now led both Huskisson and Berry into the Hall of Fame with submissions for Tiny and Small Tourism Towns in partnerships with the Huskisson and Berry Chamber of Commerce.
The NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, powered by NSW Tourism Association spotlight the destinations that contribute most to the vitality and diversity of the state's visitor economy
