TAT Welcomes LOT Polish Airlines’ First Warsaw-Krabi Charter Flight

LOT Polish Airlines
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) celebrated a significant milestone in Thai-Polish tourism with the arrival of LOT Polish Airlines’ inaugural charter flight from Warsaw to Krabi. This first-ever seasonal direct service marks an exciting development, enhancing connectivity between Poland and Thailand’s stunning Andaman coast.

On 19 December 2024, flight LO 6281 touched down at Krabi International Airport, carrying 294 enthusiastic Polish tourists. Operated by LOT Polish Airlines, Poland’s national carrier, and arranged by leading tour operator ITAKA, the flight was met with a warm reception. Key representatives included Mr. Suwit Suriyawong, Deputy Governor of Krabi Province, and Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, TAT Executive Director for Europe Region, alongside local government officials and private sector partners.

A Seasonal Gateway to Paradise

The Warsaw-Krabi route is part of a seasonal charter service running from 18 December 2024 to 19 March 2025. Using a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the service offers 14 flights and a total capacity of 4,116 seats for the winter schedule. The direct connection provides Polish travelers with a seamless journey to one of Thailand’s most picturesque destinations, renowned for its pristine beaches and vibrant culture.

Beyond the Krabi route, LOT Polish Airlines and ITAKA have planned 77 charter flights this winter, covering popular routes such as Warsaw-Bangkok and Warsaw-Phuket, with a combined capacity of 13,073 seats. Additional partnerships with Rainbow Tour expand these options to include flights from Warsaw and Katowice to Bangkok and Phuket. Across Eastern Europe, winter charter flights to Thailand’s top destinations offer an impressive 51,971 seats, solidifying Thailand’s reputation as a premier holiday destination.

Poland: A Thriving Market for Thai Tourism

Poland has emerged as one of Thailand’s top priority long-haul markets, reflecting a steady increase in tourist arrivals. In 2023, 121,700 Polish visitors contributed approximately 6.5 billion Baht to the Thai economy. By 14 December 2024, this number had surged to 163,403 arrivals, demonstrating Poland’s growing significance for Thai tourism.

This growth is supported by Thailand’s visa exemptions for citizens of 93 countries, including Poland, which allow stays of up to 60 days. With its warm winter climate, Thailand is a favorite escape for European travelers, and destinations like Krabi, Phuket, and Phang-nga are particularly popular among Polish tourists.

TAT’s Vision for Sustainable Tourism

The TAT is committed to fostering sustainable tourism by enhancing accessibility and collaborating with key partners like ITAKA. These efforts aim to encourage visitors to explore not only iconic destinations like Phuket and Bangkok but also emerging gems such as Rayong, Hua Hin, Khao Lak, and Pattaya.

“With Thailand’s visa exemption for Polish travelers and the strong appeal of Thai beach destinations, the 2024–2025 winter season is set to attract even more visitors from Poland,” said Ms. Suladda. “The enhanced connectivity provided by LOT Polish Airlines’ expanded services will offer Polish travelers unforgettable experiences while supporting Thailand’s sustainable tourism goals.”

A Bright Future for Thai-Polish Tourism

The introduction of direct charter flights from Warsaw to Krabi represents a new chapter in Thai-Polish tourism relations. With increased accessibility, a variety of routes, and Thailand’s commitment to sustainable growth, the future looks bright for this burgeoning market. Polish travelers can now look forward to unforgettable adventures in Thailand’s tropical paradise, while contributing to the thriving tourism industry that supports local communities and preserves the nation’s natural beauty.
