Experience the Heartfelt Journey of No Love Songs

This March, Sydney welcomes a highly anticipated ,loaddition to its cultural calendar—No Love Songs, a groundbreaking new musical starring Keegan Joyce (Rake, Please Like Me) and Lucy Maunder (Chicago, Mary Poppins). Running from 7 March to 13 April 2025 at the Foundry Theatre, Sydney Lyric, this powerful production promises an emotional and entertaining evening that blends heartfelt storytelling with unforgettable music.

A Modern Musical Sensation

No Love Songs began its journey in 2023 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, quickly earning critical acclaim with its sell-out season. After touring the UK and completing a successful off-Broadway run, it now arrives in Sydney for an exclusive season before embarking on its Australian tour.

The musical is inspired by the real-life experiences of Kyle Falconer, lead singer of the Scottish band The View. Featuring songs reimagined from Falconer’s second solo album, No Love Songs for Laura, this modern romance offers a poignant glimpse into love, family, and ambition.

The Story

The narrative follows Jessie (played by Keegan Joyce) and Lana (played by Lucy Maunder), a couple navigating the highs and lows of new parenthood. Jessie, a singer-songwriter, lands a career-defining opportunity in America, leaving Lana to face the challenges of raising their newborn alone. What ensues is a rollercoaster of emotions—joy, heartbreak, and ultimately, hope.

The relatable themes, combined with witty dialogue and soul-stirring songs, make No Love Songs a musical for the modern age.

Stellar Cast and Direction

Keegan Joyce, beloved for his roles in Rake and Please Like Me, brings depth and charisma to the role of Jessie. Lucy Maunder, a celebrated performer with a string of award-nominated roles, shines as Lana, capturing the resilience and vulnerability of a woman balancing love and motherhood.

The production is co-directed by Andrew Panton, Artistic Director of Dundee Rep in Scotland, and Tashi Gore, known for their innovative storytelling. Together, they bring a fresh, contemporary perspective to this intimate and evocative tale.

A Unique Theatrical Experience

Sydney’s newest venue, the Foundry Theatre at Sydney Lyric, provides the perfect setting for this intimate musical. With state-of-the-art acoustics and a cozy atmosphere, the theatre enhances the connection between performers and the audience.
