Experience the Namahage Sedo Festival in Akita Prefecture!

Namahage Sedo Festival

Witness the sacred Shinto blessing known as ‘Yunomai’ that uses dance and music from the Oga region. 

Then experience the spirit call and reproduction of the Namahages’ (demonlike being) visit. 

Admission is 1,000 yen (approx. AU $10) for entry for adults, and is free for elementary school students and under.

Please note that admission is paid in cash on the day of the event.

You can access the Namahage Sedo Festival by a 55 min train ride from Akita Station to Oga Station.
