According to the plan, the UIM F1H2O World Championship and the UIM-ABP AQUABIKE World Championship (Grand Prix Binh Dinh 2024) will take place at Thi Nai lagoon (Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh Province) in March this year with the participation of athletes from many countries around the world. Preparations for the tournament are being urgently carried out by the hosting unit in coordination with relevant departments and localities.

Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: The event will promote the image of Binh Dinh to the world. Therefore, departments and members of the steering committee of Grand Prix Binh Dinh 2024 must work with the highest sense of responsibility, to contribute to promoting the image of Binh Dinh people and Binh Dinh land to the world. It’s an opportunity to attract domestic and international visitors and investors to the province. At the same time, this is also a chance for Binh Dinh people to enjoy new and attractive sports.

Up to this time, preparations for the race have basically ensured progress. Mr. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of Binh Dinh F1 Jsc. (host of Grand Prix Binh Dinh 2024), said: "We have developed a draft plan and detailed diagram of the organizational areas; detailed scripts for each event and program related to the race, including the Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024 under the theme "Quintessence of Martial Arts".

Before winning the right to host the Grand Prix Binh Dinh 2024, Binh Dinh F1 Jsc. faced many challenges. The first is convincing the Union Internationale Moutonautique (UIM) to sell the copyright. “They are skeptical that the infrastructure here is not guaranteed to organize. Therefore, UIM representatives have thoroughly inspected many stages, including: Hospital system, accommodation; measuring tides, water levels rise and fall; Carefully considering the risks that may occur during the event organization and have a plan to overcome...",

Plan to "hunt for titles"

The host unit of the Grand Prix Binh Dinh 2024 persuaded Team Sweden to sign an agreement with Fleur de Lys Hospitality (Vietnam) to rebrand as Team Binh Dinh - Vietnam. The team has 2 members, including two-time World Champion Jonas Andersson and Estonian rookie Stefan Arand.

Shared at the team launching ceremony, Jonas Andersson said: “I have had a meeting with the new driver Stefan and I am very happy to say we have made a deal and he will become the new driver in my team. He was F4 World Champion in 2022 and third in F2 last year in his first season. He is only 20-years-old, so I am very happy for this now. I think we can become a very strong team.”

Raimondo di San Germano (General Manager of H2O Racing) added: “We are delighted to see Vietnam taking a closer interest in the championship with support for the team that led the way in 2023. Everyone involved with H2O Racing is looking forward to racing here for the first time in March and to see the sport expanding in this part of the world.”
