As the New Year moves into full swing the Make A Difference (MAD) charity has begun the countdown to their big Ride the Wave fundraising festival that will be staged at the beautiful Town Beach in Port Macquarie from April 2-6, 2024.
The festival comprises Ride the Wave Surf and Skate Competitions as well as the Ride the Sound Wave live music concerts.
All of the events raise much needed funds for MAD, who support a growing number of families and individuals in need on the Mid North Coast, having served meals to over 5000 adults and 1000 children in 2023.
Erin Denham, a co-founder of the MAD Charity and one of the driving forces behind the Ride the Wave events was announced as Port Macquarie Hastings Council 2024 Citizen of the Year in the recent Australia Day awards. Erin is dedicated to restoring the dignity of disadvantaged and marginalised people in the Hastings community. Of her win she said, “I was very humbled to even be nominated. This means so much to Rob, myself and the 200 MAD volunteers who go out every week to help feed and support people in our region. We hope to continue doing what we do and helping those who need us most.”
Adding further excitement to an already killer line up of events, MAD are sharing further updates for the 2024 Ride the Wave and Ride the Sound Wave events below:
