PHOTOGENIC? UNUSUAL SHRINES FEATURING KOMAINU (GUARDIAN DOGS)

The particularly prominent mountain located in Shikanocho, Tottori City, is called Juuboyama, as it appears to be a hawk spreading its wings.

It is a popular mount ain among h ikers. In the mountainous area of Shikanocho, there is a shrine called Jubo Shrine (鷲峰神社), dedicated to this mountain.

The main feature of this shrine is its guardian lion-dogs, which stand over 2 meters tall.

Unlike the typical appearance of guardian lion-dogs, they resemble dogs kept as pets, with adorable drooping ears and a smiling mouth, which is very soothing.

These sculptures were created by a Tottori stonemason named Kawaroku. It is recommended for those who want to slowly visit and refresh in the tranquility.
