On the London stage

Hansel and Gretel 

Elise Humphrey Shakespeare's Globe Theatre will stage Hansel and Gretel as its festive production (8 December 2023 to 7 January 2024. 
This new version of The Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage promises to ‘transform the open-air Globe into a winter woodland with music, magic and for everyone aged 5+. 

Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical 

Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical runs at The Other Palace from 11 January to 14 April 2024, sees the movie, set to the songs of the ‘90s with haze, loud noises, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and mature themes 

Hills of California 

Hills of California a new play by Jez Butterworth and Sam Mendes, runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 27 January 2024. Its Blackpool, 1976, the driest summer in 200 years and the Webb Sisters are returning to their mother’s run-down guest house, as she lies dying upstairs. 

The Picture of Dorian Gray 

Golden Globe-winner Sarah Snook stars in The Picture of Dorian Gray, which opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a 14 week run from February 2024. Sarah Snook takes all roles in a production that is an interplay of live performance and video. 

Macbeth 

The Donmar Warehouse production of Macbeth, with David Tennant in the starring role runs from 15 December 2023 to 10 February 2024. 

Pacific Overtures 

The Menier Chocolate Factory will stage Pacific Overtures from 4 December 2023 to February 2024. The musical, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by John Weidman, is set in 19th-century Japan and tells the story of the country's westernization from 1853, when American ships forcibly opened it to the rest of the world. 

The Society of London Theatre 

The Society of London Theatre is an umbrella organisation for West End theatre in London, which provides a collective voice for the theatre owners, producers and managers of all the major commercial and grant-aided theatres across then UK capital.
