Produced in collaboration with Melbourne video production agency Monster and Bear, the docuseries goes behind the scenes showcasing the experts and creators making MCEC Melbourne’s home of the unconventional.
The latest three episodes feature Customer Service Manager David Howie, Operations Manager Anthea Fahey and Lighting Specialist Matthew Dix.
MCEC welcomes over 2 million visitors every year, attending a range of events from small meetings to large international conferences and exhibitions. As Customer Service Manager, David advocates for the visitor experience and ensures MCEC’s world-class facilities and services are operating effectively for all events. Having worked at the organisation for over 20 years, David has a wealth of knowledge and his video highlights some of the unique design details of the Convention and Exhibition Centre buildings, which take inspiration from the local surroundings, as well as iconic Melbourne landmarks and history.
Operations Manager, Anthea has a holistic view of the venue and oversees events from bump-in to bump-out. Working across teams, contractors and clients, Anthea creates and implements cohesive floorplans to deliver seamless events. She plays a crucial role in ensuring all events held at MCEC are safe, accessible and enjoyable for all attendees.
Lighting Specialist, Matthew illustrates the importance of collaboration to achieve a unified design. His passion for lighting began in high school, where he became intrigued by the theatrics, technology, hands-on skills and high-intensity environment. Part of his role is researching cutting-edge technology, to keep MCEC at the forefront of the industry.
Other videos in the series feature Event Planner Maxine McIntyre, Sustainability Manager Samantha Ferrier, Executive Pastry Chef Alessandro Bartesaghi, Digital Event Manager Mark Higgins and Event Delivery Manager Amir Asady, who has since been promoted to Operations Manager.
