The PATA Destination Experience Forum and Mart 2023 (PDFM 2023), hosted in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, is a 3-day event that gathers the top minds in destination travel for insightful discussions on key issues in destination management and marketing. The event brings together tourism professionals from adventure, eco-tourism and gastronomy tourism to discuss new opportunities to promote sustainability within the industry.

Through the three technical tours of the delegate's choice, participants will be able to gain first-hand insight into how Sarawak showcases its unique plethora of culture, adventure, nature, food, and festivals in the best way possible.

Route A: Wildlife Conservation and Community-based Tourism

Take a day-trip to visit the wildman of Borneo, Orangutan at Semenggoh where semi-wild orangutans are trained to fend for themselves in their natural surroundings, and visit one of the oldest remaining Bidayuh tribe’s longhouses to explore their headhunter history and enjoy a unique tribal lunch.

Route B: Nature and Heritage Tourism

Visit one of the best Borneo nature attractions– Bau’s Wind and Fairy Cave for some fruit bats and bird-spotting, explore the old gold mining town of Bau with its spectacular karst mountain backdrop and abandoned mining lakes, enjoy a local tribal lunch, and wander through the century old Siniawan Old Town.

Route C: Flavours of Sarawak– A Culinary Experience

Start the day at Kubah Ria Market where you will find the freshest products that build up the incredible flavours of Sarawak, see for yourself how these local ingredients turn into unique Sarawakian cuisines, learn how to adapt these traditional recipes with easily-accessible ingredients, and of course, dive in the sumptuous lunch!

Rainforest World Music Festival

Through the three technical tours of the delegate's choice, participants will be able to gain first-hand insight on how Sarawak showcases its unique plethora of culture, adventure, nature, food, and festivals in the best way possible.

Following the event, extend your stay and visit the Rainforest World Music Festival taking place from June 23-25. Event delegates will receive complimentary access to the first night of the festival on June 23 as well as a discount on tickets to access the full event during the weekend, June 24-25.
