Nakamise, the main approach to the temple, is lined with souvenir shops selling delicious local snacks like oyaki (stuffed dumplings).
Enter the temple with the Sanmon Gate and check out the upper floor before heading into the main temple with its gilded splendor.
There is also a completely dark underground passage where a “key of paradise” is located and visitors who can find it within the darkness are believed to be granted salvation.
