TravMedia announces registration is now open for the inaugural International Media Marketplace (IMM) Virtual Australia, to be held on Wednesday the 21st and Thursday the 22nd of October 2020.
TravMedia's IMM is the travel industry's only global media networking event connecting travel and tourism brands with Australia and New Zealand's top-tier media titles. In response to COVID-19 and border closures, IMM Virtual will provide destinations, hotels and tour operators the opportunity to pitch recovery stories and develop lasting relationships with key media contacts, through the comfort of their computers.
Sponsored by Tourism Australia, this two-day virtual event provides a platform for industry professionals to reboot travel bookings through sixteen, prescheduled, one-on-one appointments with top travel journalists, editors, broadcasters and digital influencers. Brands will discuss how travel looks during and after COVID-19, their reopening plans and pitch stories. A customised virtual meeting space will enable brands to share brochures, website links, images and videos before and after their appointments.
IMM Virtual will provide journalists the opportunity to fill their notebooks with ideas, stories and contacts in this new reality. It will enable them to plan their next years' worth of stories, features and press trips, without leaving their chairs. Media attendees will meet some of the world's biggest travel brands from hotels, cruise lines, tour operators and tourism boards and hear how they have adapted due to Coronavirus and their plans to promote their products.
IMM Virtual is the same format you know and trust run through TravMedia's bespoke Media Marketplace platform, now enhanced with video conferencing capabilities. A total of sixteen, prescheduled appointments will be held across two days, from 11 am – 3 pm on the 21st and 22nd of October, providing attendees a unique opportunity to network and generate earned media coverage.
"Now, more than ever, we need to come together as an industry to generate great stories and pave the road to recovery. This new virtual event is the ideal tool to relaunch travel and communicate brand stories amongst the community. We hope to come together again for IMM in 2021; however, in the meantime, we are excited to launch IMM Virtual,” said Nick Wayland, CEO and founder of TravMedia.
TravMedia's IMM Virtual is not a replacement for IMM; however, given the current social distancing requirements and border closures, a face-to-face IMM Australia will be postponed until hopefully June/July 2021. More details to come in due course.
IMM Virtual Germany will be held on 29 & 30 September, IMM Virtual France, Monaco & Benelux on 6 & 7 October, IMM Virtual Australia on 21 & 22 October, IMM Virtual Asia on 27 & 28 October and IMM Virtual USA from 27-29 January, 2021.
Registrations for the inaugural IMM Virtual Australia are now open for exhibitors. More information is available on registration, sponsorship opportunities and ways to maximise your brand's exposure here: https://travmedia.com/immvirtualaus
