2020 Kyo-no-Tanabata

The legend of Tanabata says that Hikoboshi and Orihime, two lovers separated by the Milky Way, can only meet once a year on the night of Tanabata, July 7th (lunar calendar).

Kyo-no-Tanabata takes on the tradition of making a wish for the year on Tanabata with a modern Kyoto spin to it, holding light-up events all across Kyoto in August.
For the 2020 Kyo-no-Tanabata, in the interest of safety to fight COVID-19, light-up celebrations will not be held.

However, your Tanabata wishes via mail can be received so as to be sent to the heavens from the Kiyomizudera Temple bonfire on 16th August.
