Located in Osaka’s bay area, the spectacular Aquarium Kaiyukan introduces 30,000 marine creatures representing 620 species that inhabit the Pacific Rim.
Spread over 15 tanks, it has enclosures showcasing a variety of habitats, from the Ecuador Rain Forest to the Antarctic, and the central tank representing the Pacific Ocean.
Starting from the 8th floor, you descend floor by floor around the central aquarium – observe the animals from different perspectives, as some of the tanks span multiple floors.
Head to Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho to sample some of Osaka’s famous snacks, from okonomiyaki to takoyaki.
