From Arugambay with Love : The Stunning & Authentic East Coast
While the south-west of Sri Lanka receives much needed monsoon rains, the island's east coast is experiencing beautiful weather. Walking Safaris to Satisfy Your Inner Explorer
Sri Lanka's Hill country has plenty of remote locations, which increases your chances of spotting one of the locals - whether it’s an anteater, spotted deer, pangolin or wild elephants. As a bonus, the enormous network of trails, many of which were created naturally by the local wildlife, includes river-skirting routes and dramatic waterfalls, such as the thundering Gan Ella Falls. A days hike is essentially a walking safari, and a scenic, peaceful alternative to game drives and tourist trails that draw in large crowds.

Wellness Travel on Your Mind ?
Sri Lanka tourism authorities are focusing on the development of the wellness sector after identifying it as a catalyst for tourism growth while making use of a Euro 3.5 million grant to help recover from the current Covid-19 crisis. The grant utilisation criteria communicated to the Government by the EU included support to SMEs and Wellness Tourism, including Ayurveda and indigenous medicine.

The re-opening of the country's international airport to tourists, which was scheduled for 1st August has been postponed to September 2020. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has awarded KPMG Sri Lanka the contract to issue a ‘Safe and Secure’ COVID-19 safety standard compliance certification to registered accommodation and service providers be they five-star hotels, resorts, or home-stays.
