Dumatau and Little Dumatau

The country’s Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, covers an area of 275,000 acres on the banks of the Linyanti River in northern Botswana. Here the landscape changes from marshland to lagoons and meandering waterways and then to open grassland and riverine forest.

DumaTau Camp, part of the Wilderness Safaris offering in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve since 1997, is located close to the source of the Savute Channel, with access to the Linyanti Swamps, floodplains and mopane woodlands.

This provides an excellent combination of habitats for elephant concentrations as they congregate along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months.

The area is also known for red lechwe, Burchell's zebra, giraffe, buffalo and warthog. Predator sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyaena are good.

It will reopen in late 2020, with the unveiling of Little DumaTau - an exclusive camp featuring four tented suites. DumaTau and Little DumaTau will form part of Wilderness Safaris Premier portfolio offering a new wellness space and spa located between the two camps, expansive guest rooms and decks with indoor and outdoor showers and plunge pools.
